Slowly but surely.

I’m getting more and more used to this whole “work” thing, even though I have to admit it’s not really my cup of tea, sitting in an office, pushing papers around and typing up this and that for such and such, but since I started, I’ve kind of gotten to like it to a certain extent. I guess that’s what happens when you have pleasant co-workers, though.

In other news, even my writing, as in my stories are moving forward, though it will probably be some time before I actually bother to update what I have, since I’m also rewriting some of them… a bit.
Also, a pretty ancient story of mine, featuring one of my first characters ever might actually be fit to read in a couple of weeks. It’s very easy to see that Iwrote it when I was a bit younger, and a bit more immature (yes, I’ve actually been more immature than I am nowadays, believe it or not) but I’m still going through it and still tweaking it where I feel it should be tweaked, and poking it into place.

Other than this, expect a completely new take on an old idea of mine, one I’m sure you’ve never heard about, or even bothered asking about, but nonetheless it will be posted…eventually…when I’m not lazy. Or hungry. Or tired. Or upside-down.

Happy birthday…well, sort of!

Visiting friends is always fun, visiting friends on their birthdays is always a blast, but when one has a young, newly neutered dog along for the ride, well we’ll just say there will always be a few surprises. Him deciding that the carpet in her hallway looked like a toilet when he became too excited, well, that was the worst of it. Still, we had fun after we’d taken him out for a quick walk.
Somehow it’s almost scary to think that I have friends who I’ve known for nearly seven years and we’re as close now as we were when we met. Today was just one of those days when I realised, however, that we’ve changed a lot, both in our way of thinking and our way of handling things, both positive and negative. I realised that the Birthday Girl had grown up a great deal more during the past few years than I myself have. Where she has progressed I’ve regressed. Still, admitting it is the first step in taking charge of it, right?

In other news, I’ll finally be able to play piano again! A few years ago I gave away my Baby Grand because I didn’t really bother playing it. As the days turned into months, months into years, however, it dawned on me that I really did miss it and oddly enough, my prayers were answered just a couple of days ago when an acquaintance of mine decided that she was getting rid of hers and said that “If you can take it out of here, you can have it”, so of course I said I’d take it.
Now comes the real problem, though… finding strong arms to help me.

Update in the library!

Posted in Authorship and Written Material, Everyday Life on December 10th, 2010

Though I haven’t really been writing much of anything lately, I’m pleased to say that a good friend of mine, Richelle (Fondly called Rachel by close companions) had a fantastic storyline that she wanted to get down on paper and so she gave me the chance to start on it. The story is called One Chance, One Word and the first few pages are available to read right here.

Though it’s far from finished, this new story had a plot that has kept me amused and, though we’re still working hard at perfecting the characters, we’re getting there.

That’s all from me for now. Will be posting more tomorrow. <3

Updates!

Finally, I’ve gotten around to writing again, even though it is kind of crap. I seem to have gotten back some of my inspiration and, thank the gods, who may or may not exist, for that.
Chronos, which is soon to be renamed, has been updated with a new chapter, even though I’m not quite as pleased with it as I hoped I would be when I started writing it. I feel like I’m rushing the relationships between the characters as of yet, but I hope I’ll be able to bring balance, even to this little dilemma.

For now, I really can’t say much else, since I’m far too tired to understand even myself.

All the best to y’all.

Autumn is finally here. <3

The green of summer now has faded into the bright yellows, reds and orange of autumn. I feel a sense of nostalgia each time I walk through my neighbourhood, surrounded, as it is, by wooded hills, it seems almost otherworldly when the sun shines down, filtering through the foliage and shedding soft, coppery light on the ground.
The memory that stands out the most when these colours show themselves each year is from a trip my parents and I made when we lived in America, ten years ago. We drove from the state of New Jersey, up along the east coast and to the Niagara Falls. On the way, the most magnificent scenery seemed to envelope us, the hills around us glowing with the colours of fall while the clear sky above contrasted beautifully with the warm nuances below.

Looking forward to Halloween, I am, even though Sweden really doesn’t celebrate it, not properly anyway. Well, they sort of try here, but most f them just fail miserably. You’d be hard-pressed to find something as simple as a Halloween-costume, really, or at least a costume you wouldn’t mind being seen in.
In the end, we’re really just trying to find another excuse to drink until we vomit, then drink some more. Somehow this thought is more than a little saddening.

Oh, yeah! I completely forgot to tell y’all. I’ve decided that getting my driver’s licence might be a good idea, since it would mean I could actually drive around and not have to carry heavy bags home from the grocery-store and stuff. I feel this decision would go very well with my lazy nature, and who knows, maybe I can even convince the boyfriend that getting a Toyota Corolla is a good idea. (I’ve been obsessed with that adorable damn car since I saw Initial D, the movie)

Been tweeting a bit lately. For those of you who are actually interested enough to follow my day-to-day doings, y’all can just become a follower on Twitter.com. I’ve found it highly amusing to see what people are doing at random hours of the day. It’s also a good way to find interesting news-updates.

On a continued note of pleasantness, my inspiration to write has returned, so hopefully I’ll have a new chapter or two up for my stories soon enough. I won’t make any promises, but I hope to be finished with at least one before the end of this coming week.

Also, the library will be remodelled a little as soon as I have the energy to. After all, it looks quite dull at the moment, doesn’t it?

Peace out for now, Y’all.
